This Valentine’s Day (and everyday) Love Thyself (not your love handles)


There are so many ways to pamper yourself, today and everyday!

I am not talking about eating dark chocolate (which have ingredients that lower blood pressure and fight disease) or strawberries (the “queen of fruits” that have health benefits) or even oysters (a powerful aphrodisiac). I am talking about splurges that are not just food related. There are many ways you can show yourself some love and gratitude (mostly inexpensive and some a bit more indulgent) on Valentine’s Day and any other day of the year.

Here are some ways to love & pamper yourself on valentine’s day & every day:

 Take a Bubble Bath
 Give yourself a manicure/pedicure
 Use a homemade face mask
 Set aside some time to read a book you’re into
 Write yourself a love letter, noting all your great accomplishments
 Take a walk outside
 Do a yoga session for your body, mind, and soul
 Allow yourself to indulge in your favorite dessert
 Participate in your favorite exercise class
 Schedule a massage
 Buy yourself a new set of underwear that will make you feel sexy
 Put on some of your favorite relaxing music and pour yourself a      glass of wine
 Call a friend you’ve been meaning to catch up with and just chat
 Go to a coffee shop (without your kids) and just enjoy a mug of   coffee or tea.
 Buy yourself a new nail polish color
 Make a green smoothie that will make you feel healthy and refreshed
 Enjoy a fruit salad for lunch
 Attend a wine tasting
 Buy a new pair of heels that make you feel sexy
 Watch the sunset
 Take a scenic drive
 Go to bed early
 Meditate
 Write in a diary or journal
 Have your own personal dance party with yourself and your favorite beats.
 Go to a comedy show for a good dose of laughter
 Get a makeover at the department store
 Go dressy for a day
 Go casual for a day if you normally go dressy
 Take a cooking class
 Buy or pick a bouquet of flowers for your home
 If you have a fireplace, light it and relax
 Go with a close friend or family to a park – or just enjoy the time there by yourself
 Get a cookbook out and make something new and creative.
 Rub some lavender oil on your temples to relax
 Start a blog to write about your feelings or day-to-day happenings
 Go to a salon and get your hair done (a new cut, a new color, or just have them style it  for you)
 Watch a movie marathon in your pjs
 Go to a pet store and play with a puppy
 Drink water with slices of fruit (oranges, cucumbers, limes, lemons, or strawberries)
 Read a magazine
 Wear a new piece of jewelry
 Go get your nails done at a salon
 Take a mid-afternoon nap
